Madurnatakam is a historically famous place in Kancheepuram district. The trust’s Chairman’s grandfather Mr. Sowbagmal Sowkar and their family had been serving in this small town for nearly 110 years. In 1955 the family constructed a maternity ward in the government hospital, Madurantakam in the name of Mrs. Panibai. His father Shri.Dharmachand sowkar helped in renovating a new Chariot instead of the burnt one for Lord Eari Katha Ramar Temple in Madurantakam. Once this town was educationally backward and to remove this backwardness in educational the family started Sowbagmal Sowkkar Girls Higher Secondary School in 1971 at Madurantakam, and now about 3000 girls from different villages are being educated in this school. His father had involved in establishing fire service station in Madurantakam and also served as a member of businessmen association.
